Death Cab for Cutie

2月に来日公演をしたデスキャブ。
デスキャブは１９９７年に結成されたシアトルのインディーロックバンド。
ほとんどの曲が、失恋などうまくいかない関係を歌った切ない感じのもの。

バレンタインの日のコンサート＠新木場Studio Coastは満員でした。
日本のファンもいっぱいいるんですね。
３０代前後のファンが多かったよう。
一人で来ている人もちらほら。
米軍基地から来ているアメリカ人も結構いました。

生で聴くとさらにデスキャブの旋律が
心に響きますが、 "I Will Follow You Into the Dark"
（ヴォーカルのベンの弾き語り）が一番ぞくぞくしました。

歌詞を日本語にも訳してみます。

ちなみにこの曲、2006年にグラミー賞最優秀
ポップスグループパフォーマンスにノミネートされてますが、
Black Eyed Peasの "My Humps"に賞はとられてしまっています。
"My Humps"はそこら中で流れていたので
誰の耳にも残っているけど、「私のお尻」なんていう曲と、
デスキャブのこの曲を並べられてもちょっと困りますね。
